Adults over the age of 60 and living in St. Johns County may be eligible for the Senior Nutrition and Activity Program (SNAP).
The SNAP Program is designed to provide regularly scheduled activities and socialization for those seniors who are less active and less mobile than they once were. Lunch is served each weekday at 11:30, and for many, the simple ritual of sharing a meal with friends is the most important activity of the day.

Because S.N.A.P. is a subsidized meal program with a capacity of seventy people, those not enrolled in the program are welcome to participate in the daily activities but are asked to pay a fixed amount for their meal.
Any participant is also welcome at any time to purchase a deli-style lunch from the Coastal Café at regular menu prices.
The Coastal Cafe features fresh soups and salads and
delicious deli sandwiches, and is open to the community
from 11 am until 2 pm.
Transportation to and from the Coastal Community Center is available for those in the SNAP program, with door-to-door passenger pick up and delivery.

SNAP Exercises
As part of the SNAP program, daily exercise classes are scheduled that are designed to improve, enhance or maintain individual fitness levels. Geared towards the less physically active, classes involve stretching and toning the muscles while improving bone density through a series of chair exercises
and regular weight training sessions.
Led by a trained physical fitness instructor and using two and three pound weights, participants are guided through a series of low intensity,
elder-specific choreographed exercises.
Senior Tai Chi and Line Dancing instruction are offered for those who prefer
a more aerobic, less structured series of movements.
